Chez nous means "at our place" in French, and this Yaletown bakery lives up to the name. Warm pastries, great coffee and a cozy room that feels like home. You smell the real butter from the street. The kitchen laminates its dough with premium butter and bakes with Valrhona chocolate from France. Popular picks: the almond croissant, the hazelnut babka and a coconut chocolate croissant you won't find elsewhere. For something savory, try the croque-monsieur or the house-made quiche. Seasonal buns and drinks rotate through the year. Locally sourced teas and coffees are on the shelf to take home. Catering is available. Leftover pastries from the day often go into surprise bags on Too Good To Go at a reduced price, usually a mix of babka and pain au chocolat.
